Metal Deactivators / Chelators (Irganox® MD 1024, Naugard® XL-1, EDTA derivatives)
Transition-metal ion passivators for extended polymer, lubricant, and fuel life*
Metal deactivators and chelators bind pro-oxidant transition metals (Cu²⁺, Fe³⁺, Mn²⁺) into stable, inert complexes—preventing catalytic hydroperoxide decomposition and Fenton-type radical formation. Essential for wire & cable insulation, metal-filled compounds, and fluids in contact with copper or steel.
Our line includes high-efficiency N-salicylidene hydrazides (Irganox® MD 1024), oxalyl bis(benzylidenehydrazide) (OBBH), triazole derivatives, and EDTA-free polymeric chelators. Supplied as low-dust powders, non-dusting granules, solvent-free liquids, and 10–25 % active masterbatches in PE/PP/PA carriers.
**Key Benefits**
- **Catalytic Inhibition**: <1 ppm residual metal activity after 24 h contact
- **Synergy**: 2–5× OIT boost when combined with phenolics/phosphites
- **Non-Discoloring**: Copper-complex grades prevent green/blue tint in XLPE
- **Heat Resistance**: Effective to 300 °C in PA6/66 glass-filled compounds
**Typical Applications**
- Wire & cable (XLPE, EPR, HFFR jackets)
- Metal-filled plastics (Cu-powder PA, Fe-flake PP)
- Synthetic lubricants (PAO + copper alloys)
- Fuel additives (gasoline with copper lines)
- Recycled streams (post-consumer PET with metal contaminants)
All grades include TDS, SDS, COA, and metal-complex stability data.
