MOLYKOTE® 4 Electrical Insulating Compound
Dupont Molykote 4 DC4 is a high-performance silicone-based lubricant. It is designed to provide lubrication, protection, and resistance to extreme temperatures and pressures. The lubricant is formulated with a combination of solid lubricants, such as graphite and molybdenum disulfide, suspended in a silicone oil base. This unique composition allows Molykote 4 DC4 to offer excellent lubricating properties even under challenging operating conditions.
The lubricant is commonly used in various industrial applications, including automotive, aerospace, electrical, and general machinery. It is known for its ability to reduce friction, prevent wear, and provide long-lasting lubrication. Molykote 4 DC4 can withstand temperatures ranging from -40°C to 200°C (-40°F to 392°F), making it suitable for both low and high-temperature environments.
Applications:

A moisture-proof seal for transportation and industrial applications, including ignition systems, sealed electrical connectors, disconnect junctions and terminals where a semi-flowable consistency material is appropriate. Used as a seal and lubricant for cable connectors, battery terminals, rubber seals, switches, and rubber and plastic O-rings and as an assembly lubricant for various metal-on-plastic and metal-on-rubber combinations.
